Frank Caldwell Patton, Republican of Morganton, Burke County, N.C., was born 27 April 1896. He attended Trinity College and graduated in 1916. Patton subsequently enlisted in the United States Army in 1917 where he served as an aerial observer in France. Following World War I, Patton received his law degree from Trinity Law School.
